Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is one of the central supply chain management processes, with the task of creating a holistic and networked supply chain planning. The goal of S&OP from an "operations" perspective is to have the right products at the right location at the right time so that customer needs can be met there.
Poor or non-existent S&OP processes repeatedly lead to discrepancies between demand and requirements and thus either to excessive inventories or, in the worst case, to delivery failures because the required materials are not available. This results in internal, strongly fluctuating material requirements ("internal bull-whip"), fluctuating lot sizes in production with a tendency to small lots, cannibalization effects between sales units and high personnel expenses in all operational departments.
We offer our customers an integrative and interdisciplinary consulting approach, ranging from process conception, methodical design, system and vendor selection to implementation.
